Street- and Urban Art is mostly related to large-format and eye-catching imagery, which attracts the viewer’s attention while just passing by. As a result, it’s often forgotten that these murals actually originate from drawings and illustrations. For this reason, the next show concentrates on this aspect and puts the focus on small-formated works on paper, created with ink, charcoal, graphite pen, markers and acrylic. Participating artist are Arno Beck, BASE 23, dust, Eliot, Joe Henning, Johannes Mundinger, Kornel, Oliver Räke (MAGIC), Martin Wühler, Mexer, Pascal Schwendener, REMED, Sebastian Wegerhoff and Tom Brane.

dusts works are focused on the vision of harmony between humans and nature. The abstract and reduced form of a human being, without its true identity – like the one of an animal – suffering in a consumer society longing for its origin/roots. The artist’s style is a mixture of contemporary abstraction, surrealism and striking form and colour design.
Style needs no color
„Schwarz auf weiss“ (Black and white) is based on the idea to focus on the essential by relinquishing on color.
Following this concept fourty international Graffiti and Urban Artistswill show selected works at the Pretty Portal Gallary. The artists will show characters, styles und illustrations that altercate with the „style needs no color“ philosophy.
