d’RAW – International Drawing Showcase
The international exhibition d’RAW aims to contribute to what inside-the-scene folks, the broader public, as well as professional art people think about graffiti writing in relation to contemporary art without beeing booby trapped in a one-sided street versus museum discussion. In contrast, the exhibition approaches this topic from the commonly shared base of drawings. dRAW wants to propose an open minded view towards graffiti writing and street art by presenting historical, ground breaking, simply astonishing or otherwise interesting paper-pencil material as an evidence – not for prosecution, but for quality.

Barry McGee, Ed Templeton and Raymond Pettibon in Berlin
CircleCulture Gallery shows Barry McGee, Ed Templeton and Raymond Pettibon.
This exhibition serves to focus on the recent artistic output by three underground heroes from the worlds of skateboarding, graffiti and punk. Even though each of these artists has now firmly established themselves in the world of contemporary art, there are still common themes between them that hail back to their subcultural roots. It could be described primarily as an overriding sense of concern for and representation of the downtrodden, the outsider, the anti-hero. more
EXHIBITION: 10TH APRIL TO 30TH MAY 2009
TUESDAY TO SATURDAY, 2 PM – 6 PM
